Computer-killing to stop dust in its tracks

It accesses your computer like the South American army ant. Tiny, harmless critters seek cover in greater numbers, kill and solve a full grown cow in a matter of hours.
Okay, maybe not like. But wood shop and machine business owners experiencing devastating manufacturing dust may have within their shop computers. And you are looking for answers.
There isn't much to ruin your day, above all, if metal dust sensitive electronic components. Electricity selects the shortest route possible to travel and small bridges of metal dust make great short cuts. Zap! WRRrrrrrr...
And wood dust makes a great insulating blanket. That's okay if you in a large wood lost and freezing to death, but to a hard-working computer can be bad news. Heat sink and fan trying to disperse the heat inside your computer, but a layer of dust can reduce or prevent the transfer of heat. Also, computer fans can malfunction if dust and dirt can accumulate. Things heat up. Computer die. Data is lost. Business suffers.
Okay, then what is the answer? How do you protect your computer from dust?.
A large number of individual circumstances depends on the actions that are willing and able to take you to protect your computer equipment from dust. Regardless of your situation I recommend three front take defensive position and optimize for each of the following areas:
o computer room environment
o protective computer dust barriers
o computer maintenance
Let's each area individually.
Computer room environment
The environmental conditions around to control your computer. The ideal solution would be to keep your computers and monitors in a clean, climate-controlled computer room. In other words, remove you from the danger area. Of course this is many shop owners who want to unrealistic or undesirable, or have the computer in the immediate area can be operated.
So, what then? Do what you can to control the dust and pollutants in the shop. Using and managing dust collectors for woodworking machines and a ventilation system for the shop area. And move if you have the computer from the store, try to move across the room by welding, grinding or direct contact with billowing Sander dust.
Computer dust protective barriers
This includes computer dust cover, dust filter, computer dust bags and computer cases. Each has their advantages and disadvantages, as described. Determine which option is the best solution.
Standard covers the computer produced by a number of manufacturers. Usually plastic or vinyl, you cheap but effective your computers and monitors keep away from dust. However, they can be used only while your computer equipment is shut down. And don't forget, you rely on. Daily. In other words, they are almost useless in a busy shop.
Computer filters that can be used on the other hand while the computer is running. These small pieces of loose mesh of fan air vents in the computer chassis are remotely placed very cheap, incoming air dust. Some have experimented with tights, Brillo ® pads and other household items with some success. The main drawback with computer filter is your small surface area. You must quickly plug into dusty areas and clean or change frequently, the unimpeded flow of cool air in the computer case to enable. Another disadvantage is that you other openings in the computer not protected, so leave fine dust, CD ROM drives, floppy drives and other small openings to infiltrate.
Relatively new to the scene computer dust bags computer cover and computer filters are a combination. Designed for the harsh, dusty and smoky conditions shops and machine shops, the inherent wood, encase these innovative covers completely the computer processor or monitor at all times, so that the entire surface of the bag to act as a huge dust filter to remove dust from incoming air. Monitor dust bags have a transparent to allow anti-static front one clear screen, and are very effective dust, wood chips or other debris from the vents keep. At around $20 or less, the recommended service life of the computer dust is bag 3-12 months, depending on the level of dust in the shop. A possible drawback with computer dust reduced access to CD and floppy drives. However, it is possible to these drives use, if you cut a hole in the dust bag and cover it with a door flap is included with the bag. May be you have to cut also use an access slot of your USB ports.
Finally, Computer cases are usually metal or wood, box-like your computer processor and display cabinets in the to protect the environment. A variety of combinations of fan and filter introduce fresh air into the case. Computer enclosures have the added benefit of protecting your gear from blunt force trauma, such as a declining 2 x 4, chemical splashes and other things that harm your computer. Filter must be changed regularly. Disadvantages are high price to filter large amounts of disk space required, and maintenance.
Computer maintenance
After all, is the third part of a strategy to protect of the sound computer dust computer maintenance. Yes, that means that cleaning. Fear that you? It's easier than you think. You need not all kinds of expensive tools and cleaning products to buy, and no serious scrubbing or complex disassembly is required. The most important thing is, a regular computer cleaning schedule maintain. It can be as simple as opening the computer once every three months to blow out of the dust. Consult on your computer, cleaning basics and decide the right course action for themselves.
